What's New on the Upcoming 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV?

In a word? Everything. The all-new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS, expected to arrive at your Bay Area Mercedes-Benz dealership by the end of the year, is bringing in new equipment, new seating options, more features, and better performance and efficiency.

New Performance Power

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC® features a new 3.0-liter I6 turbocharged motor with EQ Boost technology. This hybrid technology allows for both smoother acceleration and increased fuel efficiency. The new engine produces 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque on its own, which is boosted with another 184 pound-feet of torque and 21 horsepower from the high-voltage hybrid EQ Boost system.

New Infotainment Features

The 2020 GLS will feature the thrilling new MBUX system, allowing you to control your vehicle with natural voice commands, gestures, and swiping controls. The MBUX system learns from you, growing more responsive and better in-tune with you and your style over time. You'll also enjoy new Burmester® surround sound, MB Navigation technology, and KEYLESS-START and KEYLESS-GO convenience.

New Design

The new GLS offers a new six-seat configuration with rear captain's chairs for increased comfort and space. A traditional rear bench is also available for those who prefer a seven-seat capacity. You'll find fresh styling inside and out, with premium leather, polished chrome, and brushed aluminum features throughout.

New Safety Systems

The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV will bring you both PRE-SAFE® and PRE-SAFE® Sound, helping you stay safe and secure in the event of an unavoidable collision. Car-to-X Communication technology, Active Parking Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a new Surround View System all come together to help prevent incidents in the first place.
