Mercedes-Benz announced their next phase in the automotive evolution when the Concept EQ was introduced earlier this month at the 2017 CES in Las Vegas. This new development in electric vehicles also establishes the newest Mercedes-Benz brand, Electric Intelligence – which will comprise a variety of vehicles and mobility solutions intended to transform how we drive and power our cars.
This concept SUV coupe summons attention with its gleaming black hood and blue lights. Inside, the traditional knobs and switches are swapped out for intuitive touch-screen interfaces that control the ergonomic, floating wide-screen display. The cabin's ambient lighting will automatically fine-tune to the driver's activity, and Intelligent Driver Assistance, Car-to-X technology and 3D real-time map display provide state-of-the-art drive-enhancing technologies.
The vehicle's powerful electric drive system is anchored by two electric motors that generate up to 300 kW (402 horsepower) and run a 0-60 mph time of less than 5 seconds. The vehicle boasts a range of more than 300 miles on a full charge and may be charged at public charge stations, an at-home wall box or a wireless induction charger.
We look forward tor to driving a production version of the vehicle once it arrives in 2019. Our showroom at 1301 Parkside Drive in Walnut Creek proudly serves drivers from the Walnut Creek, San Francisco and Concord areas.
